Event Description
The Â鶹´«Ã½ Trade Commission will host the second of its Debt Collection Dialogues in Dallas, TX, on September 29, 2015. The FTC held the first Dialogue in Buffalo, NY, on June 15. The third will be held in Atlanta, GA, on November 18.
NOTE: The Dallas Dialogue has been moved and will now be held at Dedman School of Law, Southern Methodist University, Karcher Auditorium, Storey Hall, 3315 Daniel Avenue, Dallas TX 75205. The event will run from 1:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
At the Dallas and Atlanta events, representatives from the FTC and other federal and state law enforcement agencies will talk with debt collection industry leaders and professionals about the agencies’ debt collection enforcement actions, consumer complaints about collection practices, debt collection compliance issues, and industry best practices. The federal and state representatives will also answer questions from industry members and others who attend the Dialogues, including questions about how regulatory enforcement actions are investigated and pursued. All of the events will be free and open to the public.
To submit questions in advance to be considered at the Dallas Dialogue, please email them to the following address with your name, title, and organization: questions-debtcollectiondialogue-dallas@ftc.gov.
WE WILL ADMIT APPROXIMATELY 20 PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT PRE-REGISTERED ON A FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVED BASIS. Because a number of people who pre-registered for the September 29 Dialogue have told us they no longer can attend, we will be able to admit approximately 20 additional people on a first-come-first-served basis. We will start accepting names for the first-come list at 12:30 PM on September 29. We plan to start admitting people from the list into the auditorium between 1:15 and 1:30. Thank you.
