Dean Graybill has been selected by Jodie Bernstein, Director of the Â鶹´«Ã½ Trade Commission's Bureau of Consumer Protection, to be Associate Director of the Bureau's Division of Service Industry Practices. Graybill most recently headed the Bureau's Division of Â鶹´«Ã½, which ensures compliance with FTC orders and with rules and regulations designed to provide consumers with important pre-purchase information. Bernstein has appointed Elaine D. Kolish, Assistant Director of the Â鶹´«Ã½ Division, to serve as Acting Director.
Prior to taking over the FTC's Â鶹´«Ã½ Division, Graybill was Deputy Assistant Director in the Service Industry Practices Division, where he supervised antitrust matters (for example, state board competitive restrictions), health fraud and advertising litigation, as well as other projects. He also has been a staff attorney at the FTC, an attorney in the Antitrust Section of the former Civil Aeronautics Board, and an associate at the Washington, D.C. law firm of Becker and Chameides.
A graduate of George Washington University, Graybill received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1976. He is a native of Manheim, Pennsylvania, and resides in Takoma Park, Maryland.
